Type of Assessment
The final exam has the purpose to ascertain the acquisition of knowledge and skills of analyzing the processes of construction of professional practices of social service. It is expected to draft a report of about 20 pages on a topic agreed with the teacher with the aim of inquiring the theoretical dimensions and professional practices of social workers, according to the theory-practice-theory scheme with particular reference to the representations of social workers about the investigated topic. The draft must be sent to the lecturer at least 15 days before the oral exam which will consist in a technical conversation for the presentation of the draft and on bringing out the theoretical knowledge and the capacity of investigation and analysis in the dual interpersonal and organizational dimension.
Course program
Types of knowledge and conciousness in social work: the process of construction of professional practices between the theoretical dimension and daily activity. Complex thought as a tool for analyzing the reality; biographical approach for the recovery of information and the reconstruction of sceneries presented to the profession and the progress of life paths in relationship with the social service organizations.
The Supervision as a process of construction of knowledge and of professional identity. After a historical - methodological reconstruction of the supervision in the Italian scenery in comparison with other psychological disciplines, the fundamentals are placed to have a critical vision of the different supervision methods, indicating the theoretical references to apply in the activity of supervision, responding to the new needs of the social service.
The documentation is the central element that links the different concepts and theories of reference for the social work. The process of documentation is an integral part of the aid process and of the organizational process. Specific knowledge: the legislation, the kinds of documentation, the methodology used for a correct drafting. The reliability of data and information. The communicative dimension of the documentation related to the construction of the identity of the professional and in the content related to the objective and to the recipient.
