Learning Objectives
The course gives the opportunity to widen the study of the italian Criminal
Law through basic notions about specific offences and complementary disciplines that are selected by reason of their connection to the intervention areas of social service. At the end of this formative experience the student will possess fundamental coordinates to orient himself in the complex geography of italian penal legislation (not only Penal Code), so that he can perform in a better way the role of social worker, officeholder or any professional role that entail relations with difficult social/ family conditions either of victims or authors of crimes. Moreover lexical and conceptual instruments will be given to converse and cooperate without misunderstandings with technicians of the Criminal Law. Therefore the course won’t have only a professionalizing tendency but will teach the method to critically analyze both politics of lawmaking and interpretations of jurists, in the light of Constitution and international Conventions.

Students who attend lectures are entitled to study only notes of lessons and educational material given by the teacher. The reading of handbooks is anyway highly recommended
